“Her work is incredibly valuable” (The List)
Hello! I’m Cat Hepburn, a Scottish award-winning scriptwriter, spoken word artist and educator.
My main passions are writing, performing, exploring feminist issues and using contemporary storytelling to empower, provoke and make people laugh.
My work has featured on a variety of screen and stage including STV, River City (BBC Scotland), Hollyoaks (Lime Pictures), Edinburgh Fringe and BBC6 Music Festival. My debut poetry book #GIRLHOOD (Speculative Books, 2018) explores the joy and pain of growing up.
My solo show of the same name was a sell-out at the Edinburgh Fringe last year and received both 5 and 4 star reviews. I’m also the co-founder of Sonnet Youth, a spoken word digital cabaret organisation that curates weekly online events.
In 2019, I was named one of the The List Magazine’s Hot 100. I’m currently nominated for BEST WRITER at the Scottish Comedy Awards 2020; if you are in the industry you can VOTE FOR ME NOW.
